Equation Of Understanding

Hey readers!
Its been somehow a long time since I have actually been able to communicate the wider side of life, though I have been writing poems to express the same but I wanted to come up with something more direct and explanatory. Today I will tell you something about the 'greater understanding of life'.

Equation; Equation of life has got nothing to do with the equations of mathematics, geometry or physics. It is something related to life which can be understood in terms of an equation. When I say equation of life, it includes many components such as understanding, love, satisfaction, growth, maturity, etc. for which it is mandatory to first get acquainted with the components one by one. The most and essential component being "Understanding". It again has got to deal with various areas to achieve "Greater Understanding". Let us know about them in brief:
  • Understanding self - If we set priority in flow of understanding life to achieve greater understanding, the first in this would be to understand one's own self. Now understanding of self comes from:
  1. Introspection - deep reflective thoughts just to know the true you as in your behaviour towards others and your actions in day today living.
  2. Knowing your positives and the negatives.
  3. Critically analyzing what others feel and say about you.
  4. Knowing your desires and passions and the way you can fulfill them.
  5. The key problematic areas in your nature if any and how you can improve upon it.
  6. Knowing and realising the materials/persons/places/actions/words that make you happy.
  7. Understanding and reacting to the good vibes around you.
  8. Most importantly, knowing and understanding your daily routine and chores.
  • Understanding people - After you are well acquainted with your self, the next thing to understand is about the people around you. Understanding the people is again very important to establish smooth communication and bond between any two individuals - be it your mother, father, brother, sister, friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, uncle, aunt, husband, wife, etc. and it can be done in the following ways:
  1. Whenever you happen to meet someone or know someone do try to understand their body language first which is always the first step to know someone as a person's body language speaks a lot like we all know and a first impression is the last one.
  2. Try and know the person's actions and reactions deep enough before you actually judge a person and never ever judge a book by its cover.
  3. Study the person's psychology and thought process and attitude which can be done in the first meeting. You can only do so and conclude over a certain number of consecutive encounters or meetings.
  4. Sometimes one gets intuitive about the nature and mind set of the person from before hand itself and this ability rests with only few people who are patient listeners and observers. They tend to develop a greater understanding of the people they meet every now and then with time in one go itself.
  5. Reading minds again not everyone's cup of tea, only a patient observer can do so and there are some people who take interest in knowing human psychology which is my interest area too; such people make note of even the minutest of the actions and reactions to conclude.
  6. Try to discover the positive and the negative in the people to know him better. This essentially avoids any conflict or fight which may arise in near future.
  7. Give time and space to them in reasonable proportion; without being too dictatorial or possessive.
  8. Nurture and grow every small positive bond possible to make it last long with a smooth understanding.
  • Understanding situations - When you have successfully understood yourself and the people whom you interact and deal with everyday, you need to develop a thorough understanding of the situations surrounding you too. There can be various situations and your reactions and understanding towards them will depend accordingly. Some of which are:
  1. Suppose you have had a break up and its has been 3 long years now; even if you are friends which is rarely possible, then you stop intervening in each other's life and respect each other enough with their own lives and give them space. Sometimes you are hardly aware of each other's personal life in such cases but you guard yourself enough not to be imposing or over reacting on small things. And most importantly, it may happen that after such a long period of time since you may have had your break up, you may hardly be bothered about that person anymore.Times change with that the people and the situations. So one is required to act accordingly understanding the situation. Once you stop caring --> you stop interfering --> you are at peace and actually you have your own life to look at.
  2. Suppose you are in love with someone and it has been 4 years together now, then you can obviously expect things to be transparent between you both which again is based on understanding between the two and how they have nurtured their relationship so far.
  3. Suppose you have a love interest and you are not sure of the same feelings from the other side as well then you can't be imposing your own feelings as long as it is mutual and you are absolutely sure without any confusion.
  4. Suppose your mother usually finds you whiling away your time and not studying and is not aware of your studying hours at night and shouts at you one day because of this, then you must understand their situation and tell and explain them the fact they are not aware of instead of being arrogant (common in today's generation).
  5. Suppose your enemy is a close friend of your best friend, then you try and understand the situation and avoid bitching about him/her to your bestie because every individual has the right to his/her friends and you cannot impose your experiences on them but you can just advice at the same time. And it may be possible that your enemy is certainly in the good books when it comes to see through the eyes of your bestiee. In such cases, you avoid bitching as there may be danger of spoiling your own bond with your friend.
There can be n number of such situations and the very understanding of the situations is essential before we deliver actions and reactions. And the equation that comes up when we are through all the three sects of deeper understanding is:

Understanding Self + Understanding People + Understanding Situations
= Greater Understanding of LIFE + *PEACE*

Torrent of Confusion

So many thoughts, so many expressions..
So many people yet empty spaces;
My dreams still hold you,
What is still making me wait for you!
Growing apart from you is not a desire,
You seem to be an inevitable attraction..
Life now appears like a midriff of the past and present,
So much to tell you, so much to explain you;
May be I search for a pioneer in you..
Strong instincts guide me every now and then,
But confusion is what keeps me away!

Dreaming endlessly of you,
Thinking endlessly of you,
Holding me back is my past intervening;
Present is what is desirous though past does seem alluring..
Hey, I wait for you..I wait for you to initiate
Strong intuitions thrive in; known to be positive
But confusion is what keeps me away!

I can go on and on when it is YOU,
I can only stop when someone asks me to;
Knowing I fell for you;
You ought to make it right,
You ought to smooth out things;
Because I see my future in you,
You made me dream the impossible,
and now I want it to come true..
Wanting you to make it sooner,
Fearing my past might take me over..
Living with you is all I want now,
And all I want is my confusion to end too!

Zindagi Saboodana Hai

The first poem composed by a friend-
A slightly different vision of life with a touch of humor..

Choti Choti yaadon ka khazana hai,
Kuch pal beet gaye kuch ko sazana hai..
Sala har jagah gyan baat ke ye jana hai,
Sach, zindagi saboodana hai..
Kisi ko kilpaya to kisi ko kilpana hai,
Jisko apna mana usko bataya aur abhi bohuto ko batana hai..
Par sabke pass apna bahana hai, aur mera..
Zindagi saboodana hai..
Duniya dari se muh modkar,
Harry bhai ka adhrishya chonga odhkar...
Sabke kaan ke niche bajana hai..
Sach, zindagi saboodana hai..
Gol matol si zindagi, choti si potli mein simti,
Sabne ghoti isme chulbuli si chimti..
Dhudh si safed par kab tak isko chabana hai hai,
Haan farhan ki mummy ka naam shabana hai..
Par zindagi toh saboodana hai..
Time pass karna aur karana hai,
Khud ko poet banana hai..
Na koi imaan na koi dharam,
Bas chana zor garam.. :)

Blissful Times

The most lively times..
The most hearty times..
Some which I never wished should end!

The most lovable times..
The most sunny times..
Some which I wish lasted long!

Some unspoken desires,
Some unspoken truth,
Some unspoken feelings - now that surmount us;
Same being the aura,
Same being the cheer,
Same being the delight that brings seeing you...

Still in memory repose;
 The most vibrant times..
The most joyous times..
Some which I would cherish life long!

The perennial yearning times..
Times I still love to relive!!
Splendid were those times..
Times Immemorial!

Happiness

What is happiness..
the one that is unconditional,
the one that rests on small little things,
the one that sees no tension;
Is it the one that rests on the face of a small two year old child?

What is happiness..
the one that comes from being a rank holder,
the one that outlives all stress of studies,
the one that comes from sharing just an ice-cream with a friend,
the one that needs no less no more;
Is it the one that rests on the face of a growing lad?

What is happiness..
the one that comes from adrenaline rush towards the opposite sex,
the one that is through day dreams,
the one that is through lost thoughts,
the one that is above academics,
the one that plays within the heart;
Is it the one that rests on the face of a teenager?

What is happiness..
the one that comes from surfacing on the verge of adulthood,
the one that has won a heart,
the one that is in true love,
the one who has overcome a hurt;
Is it the one that rests on the face of an adolescent?

What is happiness..
the one who has meritoriously grabbed a job,
the one who is enjoying all perks of a luxurious life,
the one who can now plan his family,
the one who has successfully married his love;
Is it the one that rests on the face of a well heeled?

What is happiness..
the one that knows nothing but peace,
the one that comes when earns respect,
the one that is unconditional again,
the one that knows only love and care;
Is it the one that rests on the face of an aged?

Happiness..
Is it the ultimate satisfaction?
or Is it the ultimate salvation?
or Is it something heart felt,
something independent of others,
something deep within,
contagious for those who believe in just a smile..

An undefined feeling - HAPPINESS!! :)

Tanhaaiii

Yun do pyar karne wale kaise reh pate hai khafa,
Yun dil mein liye zazbaat kyun ho jate hai judaa,
Aye dil-e-khwaish tu hi kuch kar de bayaan,
Ashq na beh jaaye unki yaadon mein be-zubaan...
Dil chahe unhe be-panahaa,
Yaadein tadpaye unki har lamha..!
Gali-Gali ghume unki ek jhalak ko tarse,
Lafzo mein bas ek hi naam barse,
Keh de wo toh unke liye chand taare bhi,
Alfaaz kam lagte unki tareefo mein bhi...
Dil chahe unhe be-panhaa,
Yaadein tadpaye unki har lamha..!
Bas ek sath chaiye unka, bas ek sath,
Na hogi wo khata dubara, vada raha,
Bhul jo ho gyi na do itni badi saza,
Pyar kam pad jaye toh rakh lena jaan ki wafa...
Dil chahe unhe be-panahaa,
Yaadein tadpaye unki hume, har lamha..
Hum hai Tanhaa... Hum hai Tanhaaa!!
